Blogs are simple web pages, often made up of short, informal, and frequently updated posts. Blogs can be very beneficial in the classroom because they allow for creativity in granting students the ability to both express themselves and their ideas in a unique way. Blogger.com makes it easy to create blogs, post text and pictures, and start generating feedback in minutes.
First, students are allowed to personalize their templates and designs with different pictures and colors, making their blog pages different from every other student in the classroom. They can be fun and friendly, like shown in the picture below.
Second, students are able to personalize their ideas in a unique way through creative writing activities. Teachers or students can post an few sentences or paragraphs about a particular topic, and then others who read this blog post can respond to their writing right under the blog in the comment area. These comments can be seen by other people who are viewing the blog also, so students and teachers alike can not only read the blog posted, but all the comments that blog has received.
